Registration of branches and representative office
If you are a company registered in Latvia or abroad and you need to register a branch or a representative office of a foreign company in Latvia - we can help!
The main differences between a branch and a representative office:
- A branch is an organizationally independent part of a company and a separate legal entity, which is territorially or otherwise separated from the main company and at the location of which business activities are systematically carried out on behalf of the respective trader.
- Representative office of a foreign trader and organisation means an organisationally independent part of a foreign trader or a foreign public or non-profit organisation which is located in Latvia. Representative offices of foreign companies or organisations in Latvia shall not have the right to engage in commercial and other economic activities, shall not have the status of a legal person and shall be represented by one or more authorised representatives of the foreign company or organisation. These representatives may also obtain a residence permit in Latvia for the performance of their duties.
